This seems to be the theme of our lives lately...from place to place and for Maryn and Caleb (mostly), every second of the day! We moved to Hillsboro, Oregon in January and have loved it here! We have made friends quickly and settled in. We have, however, been living in an apartment and are now looking forward to moving into a house out in the country in a week or so. We are really excited about having some more space especially for the kids!
Maryn right now is taking gymnastics which she loves. She is such a cautious little thing and it has helped her to get out of her comfort zone a little and try new things that she never would have dreamed of doing by herself! She is in her second session and is really getting used to the routine and good at all of her "tricks"! Maryn is also a great little cook (she helps me with almost every meal) and a good helper around the house! She just celebrated her 3rd birthday and is very proud to be older and wiser!
Caleb is anywhere and everywhere! Since he learned to climb, there is not a square inch of the house that is off limits to him (Other than the safety locked areas)! He is a very physical boy and goes one hundred miles an hour all day. He never misses an opportunity and is blimmin' fast! He plays with the CD player and turns it's volume onto MAX and as I run over to turn it down, he makes a mad dash for the computer chair to get there as fast as he can, as I make it to the computer, he makes a mad dash for the toilet! My day is mostly damage control! But this boy is so gorgeous that he is far too easy to forgive. He plays with his best mate "Taz" all day long (the dog). They kiss and love each other and Taz is unbelievably tolerant of Caleb. Anytime Caleb has anything to eat, he takes and bite and then gives Taz one over and over! Its funny though because Taz never tries to take Caleb's food until it's offered. He just waits patiently. Caleb definately has his dad's affinity for animals! They make quite the duo! Caleb turned 1 on April Fool's Day. He doesn't really even try to talk other than saying "quack! quack!" and "g" for "the 'G' says 'g'!" He is really good at sound effects like cars and trains and does his own little made-up sign language.
Eric is enjoying his work with Cargill. His travelling has calmed way down much to all of our relief! He is working hard and had good results. He can't wait for this move! He and the dog also get along like a house on fire. He runs every morning at the crack of dawn with the dog. Its been a great outlet for him!
I'm just muddling along same as usual...I'm enjoying the kids and reading as much as I can to try to keep my brain from deteriorating. I am looking forward to starting some online classes hopefully in the Fall as well as teaching piano after the move. I have made some really great friends here and that has really helped in being so far away from family!
We have a jam packed summer coming up which we are already enjoying!
