We have been enjoying almost each summer evening enjoying our garden and particularly the vegetable garden.  We planted a large garden with corn, all kinds of squash, melons, pumpkins, zucchini, carrots, peas, green beans, tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes....to name a few. The kids LOVE helping with the weeding and watering and now that we have started harvesting, things are getting really exciting!

This is Maryn showing off her zucchini. As you can tell, the sun was setting so it was hard for them to look at me as the sun was directly in their eyes...hence the squinty looks on their faces.

This is Maryn showing how tall the corn is...she is very pleased with it as she as watched all these veggies grow from seeds.

I belong...

I wanted to take a minute to share some of my beliefs.  As you may notice, there is a new link to the left which if you click on it, will take you to mormon.org which will give you far more info than I am today.

Firstly, I know that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father who is interested in and involved in my life.  I know that His Son, Jesus Christ, lived and died for me.  He is my Savior and it is through the Atonement that I will return to live with Him again.

When I was married, I was sealed to my husband in a Temple for time and eternity.  The covenants that we have made with each other enable our marriage to last beyond the grave into the eternities and our children are also sealed to us.

I know that the Book of Mormon is true and living by it's teachings has brought me more happiness and peace in my life than any other thing.  I also know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, inspired by God and that today, we have a living prophet, Thomas S.  Monson.

I really hope that you will take a little time to learn more about my beliefs through visiting mormon.org  You may be surprised that we're not quite as different as you might think!

Mommy Motivators

As much as I don't like to admit it, I have been bored lately....really bored. A combination of being sick, pregnant and completely unmotivated plus its just hot as the devil. Eric has been working long hours and out of town a lot and I don't think I've had a break from the kids in months! Girls night anyone?

Anyway, I thought I would put the question out there...what keeps you going when you're just done? I'll share a few of mine....

I love this book of Sister Hinckley's letters....it's so real and down to earth and makes me feel like I have so much to be grateful for! Everyone now and then I pick it up and read a few and it seems to help me realign my focus.

This is another one that I really enjoyed.
Mostly, I think I need to just get out more and do things...whether I feel like it or not. After the fact, I'm always glad that I did and my poor little kids need more public exposure. We seem to live out in our own little world out here. Anyway, sorry if this post depresses you...I don't mean for it to...I know that we all have these days!
