what kind of life is THAT?

my sister-in-law, sierra, may be one of the best people i've ever met and she comes from and amazing and large family.  her mothers oozes wisdom, truth and humor and i love all of her stories. so in honor of sierra giving birth to her second baby this coming week (who we are all dying to meet) i thought i'd share a recent story....i am going to put this quote by sarah keiser on my fridge:)

in sierra's words:

side note
Ive been laughing about this all day......

For mothers day, I went to church all by myself because my boys were at home sick. It was the most unusual mothers day I have ever even heard of. Sisters got up and said things like

"My mom could of done a better job" or

"Mothers day hasn't ever been a happy day for me" or

"I wish my mom would of done things differently"

I was in shock!
So I was laughing with my mom about my somewhat "negative" Sunday.

I said: "of all the days, in front of tons of people, you say things like that about your mom, your suppose to say, I love you mom, thanks for all the sacrifices you made....."

mom: "oh honey, having kids is not a sacrifice"

me: "yes mom, it totally is. I know you made tons for me"

mom: "having kids is a blessing! what would you be doing if you didn't have kids?........
......wearing diamonds,.......traveling the world,

..have a clean house...WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THAT?!?!

my charmed life

i really believe that i live a charmed life.
today i celebrate 8 years of marriage to my sweetheart.
8 years with my best friend.
8 years of ups and downs.
8 years of growing up together.
8 years of working side by side.
8 years bringing 3 magnificent children and one more on the way.
8 years of waiting for him to get home from work just because i love to have him around.
8 years and lived in 4 different states.
8 years of trying to align our plans with god's plans.
8 years of blessings beyond our imaginations because of it.

enrique - i love you more than i can express!  thank you for giving us such a wonderful life together.  thank you for being an amazing husband and dad!  i'm looking forward to spending forever with you.
