gone to the beach...

beach family pic With my sister, Emma visiting from Colorado, we took her to the beach and Tillamook factory for cheese and icecream.  We randomly found a nice beach and enjoyed a couple of hours there.  Walking out I saw this log which I love as a background for family pics...we'll have to go back when we actually look decent and take some more formal pics.

caleb rescued Of course, Caleb once again dived into the waves head first and was quite pleased with himself even though he had to be rescued...more than a few times!caleb with stick Caleb's first project is always to find himself a good stick.  After that, the fun can begin.  Once he got totally bowled over by a wave and started crying (I thought because he fell over) but no, it was because he lost his stick.driftwood

All the driftwood up on the beach...this was somewhere near Nehalem...hope we can find it again.kissy kissy

Overall, a really fun day!  It feels so good to get out and do something fun with great company!

pajamas, horses, boots, & blackberries

This morning, we went out before church to pick some blackberries in our pajamas...I wasn't going to take pics of us, just the horses but I got a little carried away....berries

Here they are...the blackberries are on!

boots

These boots are made for walking...we bought these boots last year as well as a pair for Caleb...at the time I thought we were wasting our money but these are the most used footwear in the house and are the perfect addition to ANY outfit according to Maryn!

calebintruck

Caleb was whiney all morning...we just couldn't seem to make him happy...this is him telling me that it's 'his turn' with the camera!

itsokay

I LOVE this picture!  It is so typical of Maryn and Caleb's relationship. They love each other so much.  This was after Caleb was scolded, he went to Maryn for comfort.

Maryn's view of the horses...she took this picture.

This is distorted and blurry because it is a picture of my view in the rearview mirror on the way back to the house.

sugarpose

This is our baby, Sugar.  She is about a month younger than Caleb and is growing up to be a beautiful horse...I love the highlights in her mane.

Building up courage...

With the new baby approaching... (not quite fast enough but coming none the less) I want to get Caleb potty trained but I'm scared. Maryn was really easy but I've been hearing horror stories about potty training boys! So, I want to ask you moms of boys out there for any little tips you might give before I dive into this new venture! What worked for you and what didn't...that kind of stuff!

Some more family pics from the lake...

2008 07 28 038

After the wedding reception was over and everything, we all headed down to Chatfield Reservoir for some fun on the boat. Of coarse for me, this meant a lot of observing and not so much doing.
