this poor boy has had to wait over a month after his sissie's school started before he got to go. and trust me, it was a very long wait. he is going to miss leigh's busy bee preschool and has a class full of boys with only one girl. i think he's going to love it though. his teacher said that he was very intense about the project that they worked on today.
caleb is my background boy! he doesn't insist on attention or have to be in the limelight. he's rarely in front of my camera or even my topic of writing on this blog. he is usually cooking up some contraption in a corner room somewhere that involves shoelaces, ropes and/or bungee cords. his teacher had hysterics at him today as he hurried up to meet her for his first day. she had all these pictures of the kids on popsicle sticks poking out of her garden and he was supposed to find his "flower" to take inside. he looked at it for a few minutes somewhat puzzled and then tried to pick one of the real flowers out of her garden. that's caleb. he is a REAL boy. he has never been interested in toys or pretending. he likes real things.
on the other hand, he has the sweetest and softest heart. he is overflowing with compliments for everyone that he hands out so freely. if you want to feel good about yourself, just spend half an hour with him. he is a real treasure in our family and i adore this boy to pieces. and he lets me kiss him whenever i want. i told how much i am going to miss him when he goes to school and he looked at me with intense and sincere eyes and said, "i'm really going to miss you too, mom!"
