who needs a spa, anyway?

this weekend, we participated in the "craziest frickin' day of our lives"! their words....not mine. but it was so much fun. we ran in a race. approximately a 5k - but just not any 5k - it was up and down a ski slope, included (but not limited to) launching ourselves over car wreckage, heaving our tired bodies into a mud pit and under barbed wire, over a high net rope obstacle, leaping in all our glory over two not-so-small fires....among other things. and all this at altitude! and it was a blast.

we did it with friends whose company we really enjoy on any given day but especially in times of extreme adventure. we were surrounded by many half-naked costumed people....as well as one in a full-on gorilla costume....i'm sure he was hating his life by the end - and one who was really just that hairy....no costume required! auryn and i signed up together so that eric could have the chance to dominate the course as he likes to do. auryn and i had so much fun....we run a really good pace for each other and i'm was so glad she did it with me.

so, we're recruiting for next year! you better get your buns in gear and join us! seriously, if you don't live in the denver area, travel! we'll put you up and show you a good old time. this should definately be on your bucket list!
